PV technicians commonly use: - Multimeters (voltage, current, resistance/continuity) - Clamp meters (measure current without opening a conductor)

Key safety ideas

  • Verify meter function and settings (AC/DC, volts/amps).
  • Use proper test leads and probe technique.
  • If you must measure current in series, understand that the meter becomes part of the circuit.
